Remember, there is no such thing as "too much" anything in bellydance.

While bellydancing can be done in the most basic of costumes, it can also be done in the most elabrate swirl of colors, fabrics and jewelry as well.

Sites like Ebay, Amazon, Miss Belly Dance and Bellydance.com are good places to pick up inexpensive items, perfect for class. While online stores have a treasure trove of cheap items, be careful. If you buy too cheaply, you'll have a costume that quickly sheds coins/beads or tears after a few performances. Even with the sites you know, if it seems like too good of a deal, it probably is.

Thankfully, Colorado is fortunate enough to have a few hidden shops, each one very different, allowing you to see and try everything before you buy. Here are just a few of my favorite and frequent "field trip" locations. Add in a few swap meets and vendors who come down for the bigger shows and you'll have a great start to your dance closet in no time.
